Cataclysm for the Shaman

It has been 2 weeks since Cataclysm came out. I hit 85 on the Wednesday after launch. Got up at 3, played until work, got home at 3:30, played for 12 hours, did the same thing until 11:54 on Wednesday night when I hit 85 and then logged off for bed. Not really worth it. The rest of the guild is just now hitting 85, so now we can start doing normal/heroic farming to one day raid again. But, enough about me. Let’s talk about the state of Resto Shamans right now.

We’re about a week or so into this new patch and the dust is starting to settle. Bugs are being hammered out for other classes, but I guess Shamans are in a decent place. So, let’s begin. Well, there really is nothing new… actually, meet me after the break.

A Whole New Ballgame (Restoration Shamans in Cataclysm)

The PTR just came up recently with 4.0.0.1, which will be the pre-Cataclysm patch to lay some initial groundwork. Contained within is class changes, talent tree changes, and glyph changes. Nothing really else of note. The night it was announced, I was able to get my Shaman over before it became a 3 day way, so I decided to take it for a spin earlier today and here are some of things I’ve seen.

I said, “I’m cancelling my subscription without a single care.”

I whistled for the bandwagon and when it came near

License plate said “RAGE” and had a lolcat in the mirror

If anything I could say that these blogposts were rare

But I thought nah, forget it, let’s rile the PrivacyFear.

I posted up on my blog about seven or eight

And I yelled to the world, “Yo, my thoughts are unique!”

Looked at my fandom I was finally there

To feast on QQ of the PrivacyFear.

Yes, I know this isn’t that funny. It doesn’t stick to the scheme. But I had to get it out of my head.

Also, I didn’t quit WoW. I don’t post on the forums. This change doesn’t bother me at all. Then again, my ethical code has always been questionable at best.

Howdy. I’ve been settling into a new job and have been enjoying it. Working a new shift, sleeping during new hours. Something struck me as odd today, though. A friend came up to me and said, “If [person I know who is kinda scrubby] downed Lich King, would I have to elohel, you mad, bro?” Got me thinking… does that kind of thing irk you?

LFD Tips and Tricks

Remember back in the day when you got your gaming magazine or you popped over the cheat code central? Well, there are no cheats in WoW (except for the secret easter egg menu accessed by Alt+F4). Let’s say that there are no legal cheats in WoW, except for the various exploits that have yet to be patched, even though they have been around for years. Okay… this is the 2nd worst analogy ever.
